Cosmetics
We all know that wrinkles come from age. We use our face
every day--talking, smiling, eating, grimacing. All that
movement wears out the skin. And, we know that you can never
eliminate every wrinkle without Botox.
I prefer the magician's way. Distract the audience.
Take their mind off any imperfections. The absolute best way
to do this is to smile. It not only makes others feel good,
it makes you look and feel good.
Another magician trick is to disguise what you can. Cosmetics
are our answer. Again, there are hundreds of
brands.
One of my favorites is
Smashbox,
the photo finish people who prepare models and actors for their
studio shots. They have a finishing powder that "reduces fine
lines&wrinkles in 10 minutes." I use it and I like
it.
When you apply your makeup (I am assuming you have already cleansed
and moisturized), dab on small amounts to your cheeks, forehead,
and chin. Then gently smooth out the dabs across your
skin. You can use your fingers or a sponge. If you need
more coverage, add another dab, but be careful that you do not over
do it. Your makeup should be the same color as your neck and
chest. It is the base of your "canvas" and should never look
heavy or cakey.
Use concealer under your eyes to brighten them. Keep your
eyebrows the same color as they are naturally. Add eye shadow
lightly. The goal is to brighten - don't weigh down your
eyes. Sweep up at the corners with your shadow to lift the
look. Apply eyeliner very carefully. No one should
notice your eyeliner, it just needs to create the effect of
outlining your beautiful eyes. If you want to create fullness
on your eyelashes, move the mascara wand across the
underside
of your lashes instead of from inside to the tip.
Add bronzer all over your face to give it a glow. Then, add a
small amount of blush. Start the blush brush two fingerwidths
from your nose, and brush in a
semi-circle
over your cheeks. Follow with Finish Powder to set the makeup
and remove the shine.
Add lipstick and your are ready to go anywhere!
